Happy Birthday, Tammy! 🥳

Tammy’s 52 today. It’s a busy day, with me starting work before seven, and Tammy having to go to the college in the afternoon. Ian and Miranda have their school as usual. Our usual habit is to have presents opened at breakfast, but since I wasn’t there (and the kids weren’t going to be ready for breakfast at six) that’s put off until dinnertime. I am planning for us to go out to dinner, but I haven’t talked about it with Tammy yet. 🙄

More news as things happen. 💙

The day unfolded mostly as planned. Tammy taught until noon, then was off to the college for the staff meeting. She took a tray of her Food for the Gods bars to share. She was dressed as her usual understated self. Presents remained unopened and waiting for everyone to be there.

I’d originally thought I’d accompany her on her trip, but I had too much to do at work in the afternoon. When she returned and the kids got home, Tammy opened her presents.

Afterwards, I thought we’d go out for dinner, but Tammy elected to get Japanese takeout from Fusion Sushi in Ranchlands. We watched Alfred Hitchcock’s Strangers on a Train. Nobody was into a double header with Throw Momma from the Train, though.

Birthday cake was cupcakes, made by me. I can’t take much credit: it was a confetti cake mix, prepared at 6 in the morning yesterday, and decorated in the evening. I’d originally thought about getting some cupcakes from Crave, but in the end I did my best impression of them.

All in all, it was a busy day. There were FaceTime calls with Stephanie, Tristan and Brianna, and one with Dad, and a Skype call with Colin and Carol. Soon we’ll get to try out the weighted blanket properly.

Happy birthday! 🎂

  1. It was a very disjointed birthday, but it all turned out well in the end. Thank you so much for all of the lovely gifts. The weighted blanket does reduce tossing and turning which might be one of my biggest issues when sleeping. We’ll see over the next month whether it lives up to the hype of encouraging better sleep. I might put together my Foxy Lego tomorrow. The chocolates and candies are delicious. I intend on trying my face masks once a week to see if they really hydrate. (I need something for my hands.) Thanks to everyone for the cards. Love you all. 🩷
