Upgraded Drive

After years (well it felt like it) of super slow loading of websites and assorted applications (especially iPhoto) Simon decided to upgrade the drive in our Mac Mini to an SSD. (That just means it’s super fast.) While I was killing time during Miranda’s piano lesson, I stopped by Memory Express yesterday to pick up one. Simon had already watched instructional videos on Youtube and was all raring to go only to learn he didn’t have the right Torx bits for the job. This left us without connectivity all night and most of today because the computer was in pieces. After searching the web he found Amazon had them for sale. Of course that wasn’t convenient, so I made some calls today and found a set of assorted mini-bits at The Source. Imagine…Radio Shack was actually good for something. 🙂 I stopped by after work and picked them up.
Simon was at a user’s conference all day (followed by din dins at a co-worker’s place), so he didn’t get home until 9. It’s now just after 10.30 and the new drive is up and running despite our Mini being that bit different in construction inside to cause unnecessary aggravation.

  1. Thank you for your help tonight. It was a successful operation, even though we had to remove the logic board to remove the old hard drive. ❤️
