New Bedroom Setup

TIMELINE:

April 25th – Me and family went to Sleep Country to shop for a new twin xl mattress for me, and a new twin mattress for Miranda. We purchased them, as well as a box spring, bedframe, and a new pillow for mum.

May 1st – Me and family went to IKEA to shop for new shelving systems for my new room setup.

May 5th – We, as a family, took apart my old loft bed that we installed in 2017, and took the components downstairs into the garage. Following that, we rearranged my room so that my mattress was on the floor. Later in the day, me and dad set up a new shelf, as well as my old glossy, red desk, and the old wooden headboard that grandpa Biickert made years ago.

May 6th – Following the dreadful Saturday morning bike ride with the BCC, I stayed in my parents’ bedroom while my new bedframe, box spring, and mattress were being installed by a few movers. Finally, later in the afternoon, I put my new, appropriately sized bed sheets onto my mattress. I then completed a few smaller tasks such as filling up my new shelves with my stuff, and moving my PC, monitor, and other items onto my “new” desk.

Today and beyond – So far, I am enjoying my new setup. In my opinion, it is nice to have a low-rise bed instead of a tall loft bed for two main reasons:

  • So that I can fall into bed when I am tired, and get out easily…
  • …and the fact that I can easily stop Murphy from chewing on cables in the night.

I am happy with my new mattress, and moving back to having a standard desk makes my PC setup look more cool. Nothing much else to say about my new room setup, other than the fact that I prefer it over my old room setup.

Also today (May 13th) – Parents sold bed on Kijiji, and a family from southeast Calgary came to pick up the loft bed for their daughter. Hope she enjoys it.
