Talk about taking a long time to finish something. Back in 2015, we set about painting the master bedroom, hallway and bonus room. The logical next step was to continue down the stairs, but I couldn’t do it. I tried to envision being able to reach all the walls up high near the ceiling and walked away. Eventually, we painted the living room, the kidsrooms and even touched up the gray in the kitchen. But the stairwell remained… white.

Then we had a knock at the door this spring (late winter) and it was Student Painters. I think they were surprised that I actually wanted them to have someone come back and give me an estimate for the stairwell painting. And the black trim on the house was also in need of some love.

They originally were going to start on Tuesday this week, but the weather was against them, so it was delayed until Wednesday. They painted outside yesterday and finished outside and managed two coats on the stairwell today. It’s all done, after only eight years of procrastination.

Murphy was in the bedroom with me today and generally was well-behaved, but towards the end of the day, he was jumping up on my desk. Trying to tell me that he wanted out, I think.

Need to put the baseboards back on and hang pictures. There’s leftover paint, I might do the foyer next.
