We’re Getting Good At This

Today we went:

  • from apples on tree at 10:30
  • to apples harvested at 11:30
  • to apples washed at 12:10 (then took a break for lunch)
  • to juice at 2:30 and cleaned up by 2:45

It was a smaller crop this year, to be expected after the gigantic one last year. In the interest of not filling the deep freeze with bags of apples, we tried going directly from prepping the apples to juicing them without a freezing step in between. It actually went pretty well. Less of a sticky mess juicing fresh apples compared to juicing thawed smooshy apples.

The campden tablet is in, and we’ll add yeast in a few days.
